With a halogen rotator, a halogen bulb is fixed centrally to a reflector dish that is spun by a motor around the bulb creating the flash effect. APS still stock a selection of halogen rotators, often required as a one-to-one replacement of existing fixtures - especially on utility and service vehicles that may have been modified to suit. The use of halogen beacons makes sense in all cases where the advantages of LED are not so important such as if the beacon is used infrequently. Also, these fixtures may be a cheaper alternative to LED beacons.
